Comments on this Consulate-General
To Whom It May Concern:
On June 3rd, 2010 my boyfriend and I drove from Beaufort, NC to Norcross, Atlanta to apply for a passport. Four (4) months have passed by and we have not heard anything from the Consulate. We called hundred of times and, when we are lucky enough to speak with a human being, we have been told someone will be calling us to let us know if the passport was in the mail for that particular day; that phone call never occurred. There were individuals there since 1:00 am and still at 11:00 am have not seen anyone. It caught my attention of a particular gentleman that drove 6 hours from Tennessee to find out his passport was not there. He called days before and was told it was there. My boyfriend paid a $100.00 and he was not given a receipt; just a piece of paper with a reference handwritten number. People were very upset; waited for hours when the computer system crashed around 10:45-11:00am. I told my boyfriend we are going to wait since we have an appointment and hopefully the system will be back by then. Finally, closed to noon the system came back and my boyfriend applied for the passport. We drove back to NC and waited patiently 6 weeks and called the Consulate. We are still waiting. Can you help us to get at least a decent answer of what’s going on that Consulate? I can’t believe that the people for their countries treated their own people the way they were treated that day; no professionalism whatsoever. There was an employee sitting at the waiting room, even before the system crashed, telling people they were there to help them and she could not believe why people were so upset, unbelievable!!!
I will be waiting patiently for a response, hopefully I do not have to wait 4 months for a responce.
Sincerely,
Carmen Garcia

Dear Consul General Reynaud,
Having tried serveral times as you can see from this posting to reach your Consulate by email, I started telephoning yesterday, August 17. I called 5 times....three times there was no answer, and twice there was a busy signal. I called from about 10 am until 8:30 pm. When the phone rang, there was never an eventual answering machine upon which to leave a message. When I looked at your address, I find it is located 25 miles outside the center of Atlanta....certainly, if an office is to be available to Hondurans or others seeking your assistance, I am curious why it is not visable to the greatest possible number of consumers.
I repeat, I am asking for the names of all US companies which do business in Honduras. I work with an orphanage in Tegucigalpa, and we would like to establish relationships with American companies who could possibly help our cause. As I understand the definition of Consulate, it is an office established by a foreign country in a host country, where assistance can be rendered on immigration, financial, and business issues. It is to be a service rendered to your people.
I also asked to visit your offices to learn what ways have been set up to help Hondurans in the Atlanta area....with the above issues and perhaps to even stay in touch with each other. I have to assume there are plenty of Hondurans in need of all of the services a Consulate has to offer. Am I wrong?
Please respond to this message, and or if others are having the same problems I am, perhaps you should post your concerns also.

Five working days have gone by with no response from anyone in your office. I believed that your office would be one of the best to get comprehensive information from, and I had hoped to establish a relationship with the office because of my great appreciation for Hoduras and its people. Please respond to both of my questions.
Sincerely, Murray Van Lear
