Since the terrible earthquake in Haiti, I have located three children believed to be my niece. Many attempts were made to sponsor them to the United States to no avail. Their documents are still with the Haitian Embassy and I just don't know what to do.

I am a historian working on a history problem. Catts Pressoir, in his book, Le Protestantisme Haïtien Vol. 2, Part 2 (Port-au-Prince: Maurice Vilaire, 1977), p. 289. says that the first person who brought the Pentecostal message to Haiti was Leon Mathias Van Alken, a French-speaking Belgian who had lived in Vancouver, Canada. Pressoir said the Van Alken found lodging in Port-au-Prince with a Mme. Christian Mevs, who lived on rue du Centr and that he worked at his trade as a tailor to support himself while he carried on his ministry. I think he left in 1929.
Could you give me any information related to this? And any suggestions as to sources? Do you know if there was a Belgium embassy, consul, or representative in Haiti in 1926?
