Are the new passports internationally compliant now? I had to explain at one of the port of entry why my passport was handwritten.
If I am to renew my passport will I be getting the biometric one?
The embassy isn't issuing new passports since Dec 2015 until further notice. If you have an expired passport and need to travel, you can apply for a travel certificate which you can add to your expired passport to travel. Hope this helps answer some questions.

Is the telephone ever answered? I've called on multiple at different times of the day and the phone is never answered. Excuse my language but the embassy staff leave me no choice. You suck. Heavens help us!!!

I've sent my passport to be renewed and paid for the expedited service which I believe should take about 5 days but today is July 13 and the passport was mailed in on June 30th. I'm not sure what is happening. I sent it next day air by UPS and with a return envelope of next day air. Can anyone tell me what is going on. And if I can't get the passport renewed by Friday can I still make my trip on Monday? If so what will I need?

I have overnight my visa to DC since on June 7 and to date, I haven't received any document. I have called and email them and no response. After reading all these bad reviews and how poor service and customer is. I dont want to visit this country anymore. I am so disappointed. There is no tracking system or a live person or email response. I am travelling by end of week and I am at a lost for words. if anyone can offer any advise or assistance, please let me know.
