Please forward to Honorary Consul Gerhard Friedrich Wilhelm Thyben
Dear Sir,

I sent an e-mail with the following message but never received a reply. I'm sorry to bother you, but I'd really appreciate any kind of response if possible! Thank you!

e-mail message sent:

"Dear Honorary Consulate Gerhard Thyben

Just as an addendum to my previous e-mail, and FYI:

In addition to the Franz Cech documents, I also have available flugbücher copies from a number of pilots who flew in the same unit as your father, Gerhard Thyben. These pilots include Gerd Schaedle from 6./JG 3 (1943/44), Heribert Koller ( 5./JG 54 in 1944), Walter Pahl (4. & 7./JG 54 in 1944), Herman Schleinheige (4. & 7./ JG 54 in 1944), Franz Eisenach (Stab/JG 54 & 4./JG 54 in 1944), Hugo Broch (Stab II/JG 54 in 1944) and Erich Rudorffer (Kommandeur II/JG 54 in 1944).

Thanks again for you time, and I hope to hear from you!

Yours Truly,

To: Honorary Consulate Gerhard Thyben,

Dear Sir,
...........The primary factor that kindled my interest in your father’s documents was my finding copies of abschussmeldung & gefechstbericht for 3 victories Gerhard Thyben witnessed for another pilot. This pilot is Franz Cech from 6./JG 3, with the first 2 victories occurring on May 8, 1943, and the 3rd on June 5, 1943. Each victory report has 3 pages, and one of these pages from each is devoted to Gerhard Thyben’s signed and dated witness statements. If you’re interested in these, I can send you scans or photocopies.

Thank you for taking time out to read this e-mail, and I look forward to your reply.

Yours Truly,

Russell Fahey"
