Comments on this Consulate-General
Sir,
Without knowing your date and place of birth, it is not possible to study the effects of franco indian treaty 1956 on you, Further if your father born in Pondicherry in 1938 had his domicile of nationality in Singapore during the period of option ie 6 months from 16.08.1062, he was not required to make the declaration to conserve his french naitonality. Yours sincerely
my grand parents from pondicherry in 1910
my daddy also born in pondicherry 1938
but on the day of treaty 28th may 1956 my daddy met with an accident and hospitalized in singapore hospital.
so he could not give option.
now he is no more.
so whether with my grand parents birth, marriage, death and my daddy pondy birth, singapore govt hopital dicharge summary, singapore govt.death certificate,
myself born in pondichrry birth and living now
whether i am elegible for cnf?
Sir.
What is the proof that your mother is a french national?. You have not stated about the date and place of your birth, At this stage it is not fair to answer your question. Yours sincerely
sir,
My mother is an french nationality. And how can I get the french nationality from my mother. And what is the procedure.
Madam,
Please read in my reply the date of dejure transfer as l6,08.1962. Yours sincerely
Madam.
Your father was born in Pondicherry in 1959, Your paternal grand parents were born in Pondichery.
I presume that you were born after 1880. If you prove
that your father or mother conserve french nationality after 16.9.1962, date of dejure transfer of French India to Indian Union, you can claim CNF Further if your paternal grand father opted to conserve his french naitonality and included your father'name in his declaration of option, your father will be french national Othersise he will lose his french nationality and become Indian, You were born in India to an Indian father, you can claim Indian nationality and not french nationality, Your paternal grand parents' marriasge certificate is necessary to prove that your father was teir legitimate son and his french nationality. yours sincerely,.
sir my father born in 1959 at pondicherry and my grandparents(late) hav birth and death certfi in pondi but they dnt hav marriage certifi and my father hav birth ,marriage certifi in pondi and nw workin in pondicherry govt.... can i try for french nationality???
u said my details are not clear.
my details in brief below
1.my grand parents are from pondicherry in 1880
2.my dad born in Nepal in 1901
3.myself born in Tamilnadu in 1940
now i am clear about Nepal country from ur last answer
but still my main doubt is between 1946 to 1962 nepal was within India or it is a different country?
why because i want to clarify myself that whether my dad born for french national in Nepal,
whether he will be considered as born in an Indian union
or
since it is a separate kingdom,is it considered as a frieghn country and excluded from either french India or British India?
final question is
so whether Nepal is it related with British India or french India.
or u considered as a separate country during 1946 to 1962?
