your reply ......."date of dejure transfer of French India to Indian Union, you can claim CNF Further if your paternal grand father opted to conserve his french naitonality and included your father'name in his declaration of option, your father will be french national" pls explain this further to me sir

my dad born in 1959 at Pondicherry and my mum is Tamilnadu. Is there any law that my mum can ask for french nationality by my father? because my dad is 4 yr at time 1962 and he is minor he don't have any knowledge regarding till now .but i m interest to get french nationality . can u pls help me regarding this sir??

Sir,
Art 17 Code civil reads as hereunder.
La nationalite francaise est attirbuee, s'acqioert ou se perd selon les dispositions fixees par le present titre (Titre ler Bis), sous la reserve de l'application des traites et autres engagements internationaux de la France.

According to the Franco Indian treaty of cession, 1956, for a minor orphan of father and mother, his legal guardian should make option and include his name in his applicaiton for option to conserve the french nationality. No guardian, I think your application was replied as above by the Registrar i.c of fr. natioality in France, Your sincerely

I repaat that the relevant papers should be seen to reply correcdtly. I cannot rely on your oral statemtn only. I remmber that the concerned party met me already in person sith his relative in my office sittuated opposite to Dr. Nallam clinic in Pondicherry, I have verified the documents and replied correctly. I think he was very particular in getting french pension and not french nationality, Yours sincerely

my father worked under the french gouvernment as apolice officer.i am born in 1960.my father and mother both died in one accident.i am having my birth certificate ,my father birth certificate,his marriage certificate and my mother birth certificate.if my father and my mother was alive at that time they will opted surely.is there any chance to get french nationality now.and my father and my both born in pondichery.and i am having his death certtificate and service details.

sir,i asked whether he is a french citizen or not..as you told he should opted the french nationality otherwise he will be indain.ok sir, he serviced as the military duties till 1.1.1964.if he is an indian how hw can do the miliatry service till 1964.at 1960 he came to india form the france.
