Madam.
Your grand parents from Pondichery in 1910 and your fsther born in 1938 in Pondicherry. you and your sister were also born respectively in l968 and 1970 in Pondicherry, Your father worked in Malaya from 1955 to 1958, These are your facts, But you have not stated about your right to get CNF. At the time of your birth, your father or mother should have conserved his french nationality, I suppose that your paternal great grand father was born in Pondicherry, Yours sincerely

Madam, you are wasting my time. Please understand your case and my reply,
Your grand father was born in Pondicherry in 1927 in Pondicherry, He will be french if his father ie. your great grand father was born in Pondicherry,
Your father born in Pondicherry was a minor during the period of option. You don't say whether your grand father opted to conserve fremch nationality for him and for your father, If not, both will become indians, Now only you gave the date of marriage of your parents in l986, In such a situation your mother from Tamil Nadu by marrying your father after 16.08.1962 will not acquire the french nationality of her busband ie, your father, The result is negative,
I advise the public from restraing to ask for opinion about getting french nationallity certificate thro' this site. The proper remedy is that you should contact a french lawyer in his office in Pondichery with relevant documents, so that he might hear you, verify your document and give a correct opinion, Your sincerely

Madam.
I explain. Accordng to the Franco indian treaty of cession, 1956, all french citizens born in Fr. India, having completed the age of 18 years and residing either in Fr. India or Indian Union, should make in writing in the French consulate,Pondicherry, a declaration of option to conserve the french nationality, In respect of the minors of below 18 years, born in Pondicherry, they should include their name in their declaration of option.
Regarding your mum who is from Tanil Nadu she can claim Fr. nationality, if she married your father prior to 16.08.1962. Yours sincerely
