about french nationality for me
my parents both are indians,they born at 1952,55 in puducherry.they got married ay 1975 in puducherry.but still both are expired.my grand ma[father`s mother]born in 1914 still alive,i have their marriage livre`a [family book] some pages.she married at 1924 in pondicherry municipality ,in that book my father name is addded.is it possible to get french citizenship for me

My father was born on 5-10-1932 in Pondicherry which was (French-India) at that time. So my father was a person of French nationality by his birth. His Father (My Grand Father) was also born in Pondicherry (French-India) and my Grand Mother was born and from Tamil Nadu which was under the (British rule). Also my Great Grant Father is also born and lived in Pondicherry (French-India).

My mother was born in Tamilnadu on 10-6-1947 which was under the (British rule) at that time. My father and my Mother got married on 9-9-1962 in Puducherry. At the time of their marriage my father’s age was 30 years old. Now both are living in Pondicherry (India).

The Franco-Indian treaty of 1956 which came into force on 16.08.1962. According to Article - 5, on 16.08.1962 my father was not married and because of this he was not able to make his choice of Nationality by himself and also he was not an unmarried child of less than eighteen years of age.

Is it possible for my Mother and my father to re-acquire French Nationality by Immigration-Citizenship and Marriage Act now? Please Help Me Sir and please reply Sir. My E-Mail Id is: raman.importantfiles@gmail.com

Sir, If you read carefully my reply to your previous question, you will find that it is also the reply to your present question. You are at liberty to file a suit for declaring you as a french national. For this you have to engage an French advocate in France and file the suit if he/she agrees, before the Court of grand instance at Paris. The advocate's may be 3000 euros equivalent to 2 1/2 lakhs ruees. If you are really interested to know whether you can get or not the french nstionality certificate,I advise you to choose one french advocate in France and seek his opinion hy sending at first copies of all documents in your poessession. Thanks for your valuable reply,my father expired on 2003 and my mother got nationality on 2007 only.so we don't know this .Whether it is now possible to file a case and mention that i was minor at that time.I have gone through some documents that it is possible to get nationality if either one of the parent has nationality.

As my mother got French nationality on 2007 .And i was born on 1956. whether I have chances to get french nationality.
