Peroumalsamy. sub nationality.
Sir, Please clarify who applied for Cnf in 2003. Is your father or mother applied either drectly to the ccmpetent Greffier en chef or Judge in Paris or thro' the consulate general in Podni9cehry. If your father's father and grand father were french, your father born in Fr India in 1938 may have lost his french nationality on 16.8.1962, on failure to make option required by Franco Indian treaty, 1956.
If your mother's father amd gramd father were franch, your mother born in 1942 in India is not covered by the said treaty. She is French by filiation If her father and grand father are natives of British India, she is foreigner to Fr India and by her marriage with a french prior to 16.8.1062 she could have acquired french nationality. I have to close my reply at this stage, because the application for CNF may be pending before the registrar or Juge d'instane. If there is no reply for the last l0 years, you can send a reminder or contact the nationality section in the Consulate general of France at Pondicherry. My cell No.9843648646. Yours sincerely

Jayamurugan,
Sir, please verify whether your father born in Fr India in 1940 made in the CGF at Pondichery the declaration of option required to conserve the french nationality. Six months' time was given to make the said option from 16.8.1962. If he failed to do so, he will become Indian after the expiry of this time limit. ie from 16.2.1963 In the case of your mother born in 1951 in Fr. India she was a minor. Her father, if he was born in Pondicherry and a french national, he should have made the said option and included in his declaration your mother's name. If he was not alive on 16.8.1962, his wife/widow if she was a french national, should have acted as above.
If no option was made by your father and by the maternal grand father as above, you will not be eligible to claim for french nationality certificate. Nowadays the Procureur de la Republique in Paris is objecting strongly the claim for CNF under section 30-3 of civil code. For further details, I give my cell No. 9843648646.Yours sincerely
