Yours sincerely.

Sir. I regret to say that this website should not be used for political activities. Yours sincerely
Sir. A typing mistake crept in my pevious reply. Please read that the period of option of six months is from 16.08.1962. Yours sincerely
Sir, You were born in Pondicherry in 1961 before the de jure transfer of French India on 16.08.1962. If your french father was alive during the period of option (six months from 16,08.1862)he should have made a declaration of option and included therein your name to conserve the french nationality, If your father was not alive during the option period, your case will be different. Option period is over.
I advise you to submit your application for CNF to the registrar in charge of nationality of french persons born and settled out of France, His office is a 30, rue du chateau des rentiers, Paris, Yours sicnerely,
Sir, It is difficult to give a proper reply to your question. You have not mentioned the details about date and place of birth of your parents and yourself. If you were a french citizen aged above 18 years on 16.8,1962 and born in French India you will continue be French, subject to your option required by the franco indian treaty of 1956, which came into force on 16.8.1962. In default of personal option you will become Indian, If you were a minor as on 16.09.1962 of below 18 years, and if your father makes option he had to include your name in his declaration of option. Some French High courts held in some cases of nationality, the non inclusion of a minor's name by his father in his declaration of option does not deprive the minor of his french nationality, Yours sincerely
