Rajeshwar- suggestions for getting CNF
Sir, Your father and paternal grand fahter were born in Pondicherry in 1951 and 1921 respectively. I suppose that you were born after 16.08.1962 date of merger of french India into Indian Union, under a franco indian treaty, l956. If so, You should prove that you have a rigtt to claim for CNF ie you must prove that you were born in french territory or that either your father or mother was french at the time of your birth. As your father was born in 1951 he was a minor on the date of dejure transfer of Fr, India on (16.8.1962) and your paternal gramd father should have made the declaration of option and included in it your father's name to conserve the french nationality, Otherwise your paternal grand father and father will lose their french nationality and become Indians, In such a case if your mother born in T.N. in 1959 married after 16.09.1062, she will be Indian also. So you cannot claim.
Tours sicnerely,
