Prabu Lingam. subject french nationality,
Sir,I advise you to ask your mother now in France to contact a french advocate in France about your matter. Please understand that the demand for french nationality will vary from one peroon to another, It is difficult to clarify your doubt without knowing all details and seeing the relevant documents. Further, if you study the relevant provisions of the Franco Indian treaty of cssion, 1956, which came into force on 16.08.1962, for conserving and losing the french nationalty, you will find yourself the solution. Yours sincerely,
Prabu Lingam

Anbu - Nationality.
Sir, Your question about nationality dated 8th instant was replied elaborately in this web site on the same day,It is still available in this web site You can see again, It covers also your present question which is not new. Renunciation is different from nationality, It means giving up personal law in order to be governed by french code civil. Renonciation is irrevocable, Renoncants are also subjected to the Franco Indian treaty of cession 1956. Renoncants, who opted under this treaty, conserve their french nationality. Other ren, oncants who did not opt, have lost the french nationality and become Indians. But they continue to be governed by french code civil, though becoming Indians, Yours sincerely,
anbu

Mr. Sheriff.
Sir, you were born in Yanam. Instead of asking for your birth certificate from the etat civil officer/registrar of births & deaths, Yanam Municipality, why you want to get it from Pondicherry. Is your birh registered in Pondicherry?
If so, you send an application to the concerned Municipality in Pondicherry territory and get the certificate against payment of necessary fees. Yours sincerely.
