Madam
I did my best to explain about french nationality. Now you are asking about the validity of an indian judgment regarding legitimation. It is not fair on my part to say without seeing the said judgment. I advise you to get the opinion of a french law knowing advocate, by placing before him all the documents available with you. Yours sincerely

Madam.
This reply is limited to your last question "Treat as fresh one pl." French India was merged with Indian Union by de jure transfer dated 16.8.1852. French citizens born in French India, having completed 18 years of age and residing either in French India or Indian Union, were asked, if they wish, to subscrbe option to conserve french naitonality, For this, 6 months time was given from 16.o8. 1062 to 15.02.1963. Those who made option have conserved their french nationality. Non optants lost their french nationality and became Indians w.e.f. 16.8.1962. If You were born in 1941 in French India to a french father, you had to make option in the french consulate general in Pondicherry to conserve the french nationality, If born in Indian Union ie. out of French India, you were not liable to make option according to the Franco Indian treaty 1956 which came into force on 16.08.1862. Regarding your kids, if they were born after 16.8.1962 tehy have to prove that their father or mother is French at the time of their birth, Yours sincerely.

Mallika.
Madam,
If the second wife married during the existence of the lst marriage, she will not be legally wedded and her kids will not be legitimate children. In such a cae, they should be either acknowleddged by way of certificat de reconnaissance or legitimated by court judgment, during their minority. Please try also to know about the category of children called as "batards". Yours sincerely,
