Great Britain has also other names of United kingdom and England, On 15.08,1947 British India got independance from British rule, British India got divided into Indian Union and Pakistan (East & west)East Pakistan separated from Pakistan and became Bangladesh, when Tmt. Indira Gandhi was the Prime minister of Indian Union. I can say only that Nepal
is a separate kingdom in Himalayan region betzeen China and India. in 1910 Nepal was under the protection (protectorate) of England or Great Britain
or England or Great Britain who acknowledged or admitted its independance in 1923. Indian Union or British India as well as Nepal are foeign countries to French India. Yours sincerely.

i am not familiar with legal terms great britain and british india.
so pl confirm nepal is indian union or foreighn country during 1910 since my grand parents from pondicherry and my father born in nepal during 1910.

If your father subscribed the declaration of option to conserve french nationality, and included your name in his application, your father and yourself will conserve the french nationality, In such a situation, you can
submit your application for CNF to the Greffier en chef du service de la nationalie pour les francais nes et etablis hors de France,Paris. my name rama born in pondicherry birth certificate 1957'
my mother born in pondicherry birth certificate as 1925
my father born in pondicherry birth certificate in 1918
father's & mother's marriage was Tamil Nadu in year 1945
in her marriage certificate registered in tamil nadu
my father & mother not applied for CNF that time

whether I cam apply for CNF
if what is the procedue & documents needed

I clear your doubt. Among Renoncants only those who opted have conserved their french nationality. Tne non optants have become Indians. As renunciastion is irrevocanble, they continue to be governed by French code civil, Before l962 renoncants and non renoncants were all french citizens. After 1962 renonciation alone cannot confer fr, nationality, Yours incerely

thanks for clearing the doubts..sir you told that there occurs a french nationality certificate which is given to the persons who renounced in the pondicherry provided by judge as you told...the persons who got the nationality certificate before 16.08.1962 ,should again be optioned or not.
