STUDENT VISA

The Applicant shall present the original and a photocopy of each document with the visa application.

a) Passport - must be signed by the holder and remain valid for at least 3 months after the date of intended departure from Poland. There must be at least one blank visa page. No corrections and observations concerning the personal data or validity of the passport will be accepted.

b) Clear photocopy of passport's data page and photocopies of pages with visas issued to the passport must be attached.

c) 2 recent photographs (35mm x 45 mm) sharp, in color, printed on high-quality paper with a light background, "en face", both sides of the face should be visible, with no headdress nor dark glasses. Picture must present a person from top of head to shoulders. Only one of the photos shall be permanently affixed to the application. Second shall be submitted separately.

d) Original of birth certificate and marriage certificate (if married) with clear photocopies.

e) The travel health insurance, valid in all Schengen Member States for the whole period of intended travel, covering medical expenses to the amount of minimum of 30 000 Euro, issued by a reputable Insurance company. The photocopy of the insurance must also be attached.

f) flight reservation (booking of round-trip ticket with fixed dates).

g) proof of financial means in the country of residence;

h) proof of employment: bank statements;

i) proof of real estate property;

j) proof of integration into the country of residence: family ties; professional status.

k) consent of parental authority or legal guardian (when a minor does not travel with them);

l) a certificate of enrolment at an educational establishment for the purposes of attending vocational or theoretical courses within the framework of basic and further training;
student cards or certificates of the courses to be attended;
Acceptance letter from the University In Poland, confirming preliminary enrollment to a specific faculty and payment of the tuition fee for at least first full year of studies.
Sponsors letter (with physical address, telephone number, e-mail) specifying the relation of the sponsor of the studies to the Applicant, affirming clearly the responsibility of the sponsor for financing of all of the costs of studies and stay in Poland, for the whole intended period of studies.
The sponsor's bank statement presenting the transactions on the Applicant's account of at least last 3 months, proving sufficient funds to cover the expenses of the intended studies and proving financial credibility.
The original of the senior secondary school certificate superlegalized and confirmed as original and lawfully issued and obtained, by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Applicant's country.
The original confirmation letter from Ministry of Education of the Applicant's country, confirming that the results obtained at the senior secondary school examination and the certificate itself, qualify the holder for the admission to study at any university in Applicant's own country. The confirmation letter shall identify the certificate in question referring to the name of the candidate, date of birth, the certificate number, issuing authority and its date of issuance.

Students shall present at least the following senior secondary school credentials:
The candidates from Nigeria must present certificates issued by WAEC or NECO with at least 5 credits (Mathematics and English Language obligatory).

The candidates form Ghana must present the WASSCE or SSCE certificates with the aggregated score of 24 or better, with all core subjects passed and credit passes from 3 core subjects, as well as 3 passes from any of the elective subjects. For holders of General Certificate of Education Advanced Level requirement: 2 or 3 "A" levels, and 5 "O" levels with credit passes in English and Mathematics.

The candidates from Cameroon (Anglophone system) must present the GCE "O" level with 5 credits (Mathematics and English Language obligatory) and GCE "A" level with at least 2 subjects passed (Religious Studies as one of the only two subjects passed in "A" level is not sufficient for admission). Candidates attending secondary school in Francophone system must present Baccalaureat with the mention "passable" (overall average of 10 or better).

Please note that the universities in Poland may insist on providing better credentials than described above as the condition for admission.

Students are obliged to arrange for sending, by an appropriate Examination Council (WAEC, NECO, etc.) the letter of confirmation of the results of the examination, directly to the Embassy in Abuja.
For students intending to study the post graduate courses, apart from the senior secondary school credentials should present the BA diploma/degree, conformed by the Ministry of Education in the Aplicant's country, and superlegalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Applicant's country, as described above in case of secondary school certificates.
The medical certificate confirming that the health condition of the candidate allow for the studies abroad.
Prior to the issuance of a student visa successful candidates will be required to legalize their education credentials at the Embassy of Poland in Abuja. The consular fee will be collected for that service.

II. Consular district of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Abuja encompasses following States:

Federal Republic of Nigeria, Republic of Benin, Republic of Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Republic of Ghana, Republic of Guinea, Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Republic of Liberia, Togolese Republic, Republic of Sierra Leone.

III. Practical information - please read it first before you visit the consular section

On December 21, 2007, Poland joined Schengen Group. In consequence short term (i.e. up to 90 days) visas issued by Polish diplomatic and consular missions abroad are valid (unless, in certain circumstances, it is otherwise) for all Schengen countries. Long tem visas (for instance issued to students) remain national - they are valid for Poland only. Nevertheless, their bearers are no longer required to have airport transit visas if they travel through and airport in on of Schengen countries.

Fee for consideration of the visa application - regardless of the type of visa: 10,800 NGN, FROM 1ST OCTOBER 2009 THE FEE IS 12,000 NAIRA.
