Good Evening Sir,

I would be grateful if you could help me with my unusual circumstances to apply for a tourist visa.

I'm of Mauritian nationality and reside in Mauritius. Currently I am on a business trip to Indonesia for 2 months and I am returning to Mauritius around the 18th of June 2013.And on 22nd of June, I must leave on a business trip to Brazil (from around 23rd to 30th of June).

I would like to visit Peru as a tourist for the whole month of July after my business trip to Brazil.

However, I have several problems:

1-There is no representation of Peru in Mauritius.

2- It is not possible for me to apply for a visa from one of the African countries like South Africa, given my short stay in Mauritius between my two business trips (less than one week ). It would take several weeks to get a visa to Peru and this is time which I haven’t got.
On the other hand, as I am still in Indonesia for more than 3 weeks on business, I have thought that it would be more convenient and practical for me to apply for a tourist visa at your Embassy in Jakarta.

But unfortunately from your enquiry services, I have been advised that I must be the holder of a residence permit to apply for a visa to Peru. Same response from the Peruvian Embassy in Paris.

I am at loss and I don’t know how to go about it. I would be very grateful if you could help to resolve this situation.

Is it possible to get the entrance for a tourist visa at the airport itself in Peru or is it imperative that I need to apply for a tourist visa before entering Peru?

Can you please advise me about the best course of action and the visa formalities for Mauritius?

Thank you for your time and I would be grateful if you could reply to me as soon as possible so that I can do the necessary paper work for the visa application to Peru.
