I need the national number.
It is so difficult to reach the Consulate through the phone (always busy). I need me and my wife to do the followings:
1. To get the new national number.
2. To register for the next elections.
3. To renew or to get a new passport.

The only documents I have:
1. My old passport expire 31/12/1973 and البطاقه الشخصيه.
2. My wife has the old passport expire 10/03/1981 and her birth certificate.

The question is, the old and expired passport be sufficient to prove that I am Egyptian and eligible to obtain the national number or not? If not, what other document can be considered a proof in lieu of the birth certificate? and what is the processes?

Thank you

Obtaining the national Number
I was informed that a representative from our Egyptian consulate in Los Angles will be in San Francisco area next Monday to help us obtain the national number. The problem is I don't have my birth certificate but I still have my expired Egyptian passport. The question is, will the passport be sufficient to prove that I am Egyptian and eligible to obtain the national number or not? If not, what other document can be considered a proof in lieu of the birth certificate?
Thank you
