I am a South African working in Doha. Will be going home in two months time travelling Egyptair wiht 16hrs stop-over and would like to optimise this time and see the pyramids. What are the visa requirements for South African citizens and do i get visa on arrival or should i apply prior travel? I am an American citizen and I would like to visit Egypt for several days during May. The State Department Website as well as the Egyptian website is somewhat confusing as the information is not exactly clear.
Is it still possible for Americans to get a visa on arrival? As I understand it, the way it used to work in the past was that Americans could purchase a visa stamp for 15-25 USD on arrival.
