Departure Tax over 30 Days
I go to Dominican Republic 3 times a year never more then 30 days.
Last year my friends that were with us were there 35 days and had to pay $60. each Departure Tax.
I have called several Travel Agency's and went to several sites to find out what exactly what the Tax is and cant seem to find out anywhere.
Could you please tell what the Departure Tax is for 35 days,
Frank Butler

Welsh Mother Faces her 9th month in Dom. Repl. jail
Having enjoyed 2 trips to the Dominican Republic in the past five years I now refuse to go again. Having heard through the Welsh ex-patriot community here in Western Australia about the plight of NICOLE REYES it makes me think that her sad demise could have happened to me ! Like Nicole, I have driven on your roads as a tourist but thankfully, unlike her, wasn't involved in any accidents. As a result of an accident last July, which claimed the life of her husband, Jorge,Nicole has also lost her home and her freedom. Accussed of murder (by her inlaws) Nicole has languished in one of your jails for eight months. Anyone with any sense of justice must be struggling to understand her case. For her sake and that of her despairing family back in Wales, for the love of God, either bring her to trail or release her ! I know a lot of people here in Western Australia who are changing their travel plans as a result of Nicole's imprisonment. The global Welsh population is watching. Thank you for your consideration.

Residency visa
I live 8 months of the year in punta Cana. I have learned that a visa is now required to do that. If so, can you tell me what I need to do to be able to stay for 8 months of the year. Thank you for your help. Diane
