It have been many years that the kurdish governmental power,mainly the Patriotic Union ofKurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party,made the kurdistan region pass through a political and economical crisis,due to lack of a modern democratic governing system.
In order to change and organise the totalitarian system in the region,and to make the region guarantee people to practice their rights and live their free lives,many plans and projects have been offered to the political power in kurdistan region by different social classes and NGOs,as a civil pressure.
But the government in kurdistan(which is more like a party),regardless of the short-term requests of people,without concerning the protesters,and without giving any care to the facts of a democratic life, has very cruelly started to curb the (foreign voices) as they say.This is done through political punishments,haunting,imprisoning,stabbing,accusations,and job dismissing of all the protesting people in kurdistan region.They do this inorder to prolong their power which has devided the rights,lands,and resources of Kurdistan between two families and their followers and friends.
We,being hundreds of veterans,have been doing our efforts for decades,without waiting for anything in return apart from winnig a peaceful life in our homeland.From the time when people started to ask for freedom,we decided to take part in this new revolution as a civil way to continue what we used to do,because we are honored by a history which is full of sacrifice.We want to deliver the same message which we did before the uprise against the (Saddam Hussain's Baath regime),which was asking for peace,freedom,human rights,and improving our country.We want to take civil steps in favor of the general interests of our nation,consecutive with the surronding countries.
But the officials of the two parties of Barzani and Talabani have been using their history of being (Peshmargas=veterans) as a tool to curb people and prolong their power.But we have big shares in the history which governmental officials consider only theirs , and are proud of.We sacrificed our youth for liberating our region as much as the President of Iraq,and The President of Kurdistan region did.
In addition to dismissing us from jobs in the governmental departments,every day,for different justifications,the veterans face imprisonnign,torturing and humiliation.Which is witnissed by people in Kurdistan,media,governmental organizations and NGOs.We can't find any legal organization in the region to take legal action against the officials and against the armed men in the parties.
So we would like to declare that our patience is about to end,and from now and on we will have necessary response in any way it needs to any violation which will be done against the veterans who have spent their lives doing their national duty.And the government will take the whole responsibility.
We also think that it is necessary for the veterans who are in close relation with the government,and still have their living conscience of being veterans,not to accept these violations any more,and they should support us.
Through this message,we wanted to warn the Kurdistan regional government.And we wanted to inform the foreign people and organizations about their actions.
