would like to stay in Cuba for the winter months
does the Cuban government have any special programs to assist retired people? I would like to stay with friends in Placetas, V.C. Is there anywhere in Cuba where i can access my pensions through "interac"? I don't have credit cards so I can only get my pensions from my bank account. if i take some money to Cuba can I open a bank account in Cuba? If I can stay three months will I have to pay more money for an extended Visa?

That young man from Simcoe, who was under investigation in Cuba, was arrested because he took his mothers rent a car. The rent a car was in his mothers name on the contract. The news here in Canada made it look like that Cuba is a non civilized country,but that is not the case.

In Canada,the police collaborate with organized crime involved in multinational business,especially in the entertainment business.I am a songwriter/composer and I have,for the past thirty years of my life,harassed,intimidated,robbed,assaulted and pushed off a pier....One day I wish to go to Cuba and get far away from all this traditional mafia and government filth here in Canada and the U.S.

My son was dtained in Nov at custom in Cuba, threatedn with blood tests and jail time, asked to whom he has spoken the last time ( He was 10 when we all went to Cuba) He was forced to sign a "confession" in Spanish , which he does not udnerstand, given a "fine" of 100 pesos, had to take a 50 Peso cab to his hotel. i feel he shoud get this all back and his trip refunded. My attempts to get soemthing done has produced nothing.

Shame on you, we have visited Cuba 10 times but we are thinking again about perohaps canelling any future trips. Total contempt and totally ignoreing our concerns

correcting untruths about Cuba
distortion of facts re cuba by idividuals like "Charles " who refers to the Canadin youngster involved in an accident and who was jailed. and therefor claims incorrectly it is unsafe there. A many time visitor to Cuba and other locations in the world and a born and raised Canadian citizen, can attest to the fact that it is the safest place to which one can travel. Even other nations in Central,south America or the Caribbean attest to that facts do those who have gone to both locations. Situations like the recent G20 in Toronto or Montebello or Quebec city and the police brutality against innocent Canadian citizens do not occur.
Not one of my many friends, colleagues and acquaintances have nothing but praise for Cuba and extol just how much they liked it and continue going there or plan to return

Discrimination in a Communist Country
Do not go to Cuba, you could
end up like the Young Man from Simcoe, Ontario,being held there since April due to a car accident, You are guilt in Cuba until you can prove other wise, if not off to Prison.

So I advice to find a saver place to go,their are many that are not Communists and treat tourist like they are their pay chegues.
