colombian passport,colombian cedula
i am planning to travel to medellin, colombia in the near future. Do i need a colombian passport, and a colombian cedula; i was born colombia. I have been living in the US for the past 36 years; and now i am a US citizen.

Last time i travel to colombia was in 2005 and i was informed that before leaving colombia a needed to show proof of colombian cedula which i did the paper work and received a contrasena proof for colombian cedula. Then i was allowed to leave colombia. My question is do i need a colombian cedula, and colombian passport along with the US passport to visit Medellin, Colombia.

To Claudia
Yes. There is an dual citizenship agreement between US and Colombia. We Colombians do not renounce to Colombian citizenship (US love us that much, we are consider favorable immigration.) However, In Colombia, you will always be a Colombian. I’ve lived in the US most of my life, but as a Colombian all my documents are up to date. How could is that! Two passports. It actually works great when you visit countries like Brazil. In Brazil, Colombians do not need Visa, US citizens do. When I visit Brazil I enter as a Colombian.
