Comments on this Embassy
I was advised by my travel agent that I did not have to get a visa to stay in Chile for less than 24 hours. My stay was between flights at Santiago Airport of approximately 20 hours. We were staying at the holiday inn hotel at the airport. I have sent two emails over the last two weeks to the Chilean Embassy in Australia to confirm this so I could make a decision on my accomodation. The Chilean Embassy did not have the courtesy or consideration to reply to my request for this information. If I knew that I would have to pay the reciprocity fee I would have cancelled my hotel and stayed at the airport lounge. Your poor response to a simple question regarding visa information displays your attitude to an Australian citizen.
I will contact the relevant Australian government member of parliament on my return to Australia to express my disappointment.
