crappy service
i took a trip to Jamaica just so that i could help my boyfriend get a visa. when i was at the embassy that's when i realize he needed to fill out another document or application if you may regarding family members. i also found out we have to purchase a dhl package to present to those folks. keep in mind this was not available info on the website. another thing, what about folks who dont have access to computers, the office doesnt even provide application, they have some guys outside the office selling the bloody application, this is so damn tackie. there is no seat outside to sit and wait for your folks as you're not allowed in if you're not the applicant. we also had to drive all the way to new kingston to purchase dhl envelope for $900 and take it back to the drop box. i was so dissapointed with the process as this is not even a guarantee after this stressed out procedure.

More than once when I sent docs to the office they call that they need return airway bill, that is irresponsible, please get capable people to work.

Payment for Visa
"I am appling for an overseas job they told me to pay a fee to them then they will send document to the embassy here I will then get on appointment to come in for the visa and I will not need to pay any visa fee her if I pay them the fee they have asked for does anything goes like that I would like to know"

Nadine:

Sounds wrong to me. You should be applying to the Embassy yourself with a copy of their letter attached and paying the fee to the Embassy. Be careful with this, there is a lot of fraud out there. Read the Canadian website re this. http://www.cic.gc.ca

My question to all the people that workes at the Canadian embassy in kingston jamaica.Who the hell is paying you guys?U need to let people who really wants a job do what u all is taking for granted.U think u been put in that department to sit and gosssip, eat and fart?u need to help the people. No wonder the country going to the dogs, well maybe the dogs would do a better job.

Work Permit
How long does it take to process a work permit? The website site indicates 8 weeks which have long expired and no response is forthcoming via email. In the meantime I can't travel because my passport is with the High Commission.

This system is really slappy, its been over a month now and i havn't gotten a response from the embassy. If they know they are not going to process people application in a timely manner they need not take our important documents. My god unu need to revise the procedure of doing think, its stink.

Visa-Yes/No
I am totally against this new application system.I have been to Canada over 6 times with different visas which I have gotten within a week and this system... Over a month now and no words yet!Could have gone elsewhere but they have travel documents. They have ruined our Summer vacation big time!
