THE HINDU TIMES
SKD writes writes: THE HINDU NATIONAL » TAMIL NADU> ARTICLE> 1st Agust A couple from Uttarakhand and their accomplice in Punjab cheated 116 unemployed youths to the tune of Rs. 72 lakh A couple from Uttarakhand and their accomplice in Punjab who cheated 116 unemployed youths to the tune of Rs. 72 lakh, were arrested by the Cuddalore New Town police on Wednesday. They have been lodged in the Cuddalore Central Prison. G. Sanjay Singh (27) and his wife Dilshid Kaur (27) of Uttarakhand and G. Mandip Singh (31) of Punjab went online proclaiming that their company “Dreamway Solutions” at Vadodara in Gujarat would get jobs for unemployed educated youth in Canada. Falling a prey to the allurement offered by the racketeers, V. Tamilvendan, a computer science engineer, had applied for a job. He received a reply asking him to pay Rs 60,000, including a registration fee of Rs 5,000, for the service. Mr. Tamilvendan made the payment at the fag end of 2012 on the assurance that he would get the work orders in four months. But even after the lapse of six months he did not get any favourable response from the “company.” As he grew suspicious, he wrote a letter to the company only to learn that it was a non-existing. Then he lodged a complaint with the police, who devised a strategy to trap the fraudsters. Through Mr. Tamilvendan a message had been sent to the trio stating that if they had come to Cuddalore in person 14 youths were ready to enrol themselves with their company. With the desire to make big money they came to meet Mr Tamilvendan at a predetermined place here. While they were engrossed in talks, the policemen in mufti arrested them. They were later produced before a Judicial Magistrate-II court which remanded them in 15 days’ judicial custody.
