Good day.i am now in china.my ID card expired last two months and that of my girlfriend is missing. my question is if we have to apply for any document in the embassy, can we use our passports without the ID cards? if not how do we go about it. thanks

I'm a science teacher in Thailand, teaching science, maths, and English. The immigration want a letter from my embassy to confirm my degree. I asked if my university can send it but they refused saying only letter from the nearest embassy with stamp from the embassy.My visa will expired in a week time.
