PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE
I would like to congaratulate the Brazilian Embassy in Dar es salaam for all the efforts that you have made to make the existance of this page.I scencerely thank you for this opportunity, that we can share our experience with you.
Let me talk about Portuguese language, previously I use to hear that was the official language in Portugal and to all Portugese colonies allover the World. My first contact with Portugues language was in the year 2003, when I had a chance to vist Mozambique and stay for two years. It was in Maputo where I began to learn Portuguese, being one of the Latin languages it was not easy for me to learn as English was already my first foreign language.Slowly by slowly I started to ulter words such as bom dia,boa tarde, boa noite, como star, onde vai, como se chama, obrigado and many other words. After three months I was able to communicate in Portugese and since then I have come to love the language and the culture that it expresses.
I like to speak the language very much, but the chalange I face is that in Tanzania majority speaks Swahili.I also like to read, write in Portuguse and listerning to Portuguese music. The language as such is very romantic and so Ilike that.
I once came to know that there's different ways of speaking Portuguese:for example a maneira Angolana,Brazileira,Mocambicana and may other.Portuguese as a languge, remains the same but what differs is just the matter of pronouciation. For that case, people can communicate and understand each other from any part of the Portuguese world, although there can be some slighty differences in vocabularies and pronounciation.
I thank God that the Brazilian Embassy is open in Dar es salaam,my curiosity is to know which plans the Embassy has to promote the teaching of Portuguese language among the Tanzanians so as to strenthern the ties between the two countries. I am sure this will open may door to Tanzanians.
