request for appointment
3. Visa Appointment System
3.1 Via telephone - charged!
To avoid unnecessary waiting times, the submission of an application is only possible on an appointment.
A Schengen visa application process to Austria should be initiated two months ahead of travel. The Embassy of Austria Manila needs at least three weeks to proceed with a visa application upon completion of the application.
A new phone service is available. To access the service, call
• from the Philippines: 1 800 111 00 838 or 02 4795460
• from Austria: 0043 1 2297210
Callers will be charged the equivalent of EUR 13,-- per call through a credit card payment. After paying the fee, the caller will be connected to an operator who can schedule an initial appointment to submit the Schengen Visa application. Callers will also be provided with all the information applicants need to submit their application at the Embassy.
The service is available in German and English. Operating hours for the Visa Information and appointment Service will be from Monday – Friday, 08 AM -5 PM.
The benefits of the new service are that the applicant:
• schedule an appointment, based on availability, at the Embassy for a time and date that is convenient for them.
• speak with an operator from the convenience of their home or office throughout normal business hours.
• will not have to wait in lengthy lines to get into the Embassy.
• will be able to speak to an operator who will be able to answer questions about visa requirements and application procedures.
3.2 Through personal appearance - free of charge!
Appointments can also be booked in personal appearance at the Embassy of Austria Manila any Friday, 9 - 11 AM between 9 - 11 AM. Appointments will only be given out upon personal appearance of the applicant (not through messengers or travel agents), except for family members or minors. To book an appointment you have to bring your passport and a copy of the data page of your passport. Please note on the copy of your passport your e-mail address and your telephone number. For technical reasons an immediate booking of the appointment (or submission) is not possible. The applicant will be informed about the appointment date via e-mail or telephone within the next working days

REQUEST FOR APPOINTMENT
The site does not have complete info on where and how to request for appointment at the Austrian Embassy in Manila. I tried calling the phone numbers listed in the website, and the automatic message says requests can only be done via internet.

I hope the proper authority would do something about it to render a more effective service.

Thanks and regards.
