Horrors at Taiji
Dear Sir/Madam

Having read the British and American ambassadors twitter post, I was so glad that they are concerned with the awful massacre that is occurring at the moment in Taiji, Wakayama pref. I do however think that more needs to be done to try and gather more support for the anti dolphin hunt supporters, that is gathering more pace around the globe. You are in a very strong position and can actually have some form of influence and change this awful action. I have lived in Japan for almost 7 years, and I have struggled for almost as long to raise awareness for the plight of the dolphins. The people of Japan are mostly unaware of the terrors that happen in their own country thanks to the media keeping a very well guarded secret. The people need to know that this is not acceptable in 2014, with all we know about dolphins and the inhumane way they treated at the cove.

You have the power to do what so many gaijin have been trying for so long and to simply create a debate here in Japan...please do not waste this moment to do something memorable and important for future Japanese generations who one day look back at this ignorant and arrogant act and wonder how this could have still be happening in 2014.

Please do your best to raise more awareness. The people of Japan and the rest of the world are counting on you.

Yours sincerely

Gareth Whitby
