Irresponsible and unresponsive
I am an Iranian and owner of a legitimate business in Yerevan, Armenia. On 5th of December 2013 during my stay in Iran I decided to contact the Armenian Embassy in Tehran by phone and ask a question about a few details regarding a power of attorney and its procedures. Since I knew that these services are related to the Consular Section I dialed their number first. A lady responded and without even listening to my question stated that “your issue is related to the cultural section!”. No one in the cultural section answered my call and thus I was relayed to the operator who had an incredibly thick Armenian accent. The operator, at first asked for my name and other details and then asked me to write a letter to the embassy and address my question. Apparently this operator was kept in darkness for decades and had never heard of email. While so surprised and assuming that he is joking, I asked in shock that “should I seriously send a letter for just asking a simple question?” he hung up the phone.
I decided to give it a second try and this time I insisted to the lady in the consular section that my issue is related to them and not the cultural section, In response the lady on the phone resorted to lying and claimed that she was at the visa desk and when I insisted on her to give an acceptable response she impolitely asked me to write a letter as well!!!.
Since it was impossible to get in touch with respectable Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia in Tehran, I decided to write my concerns on the complaints board.
Please kindly note that employees of an embassy are required to mention their full names during conversations over the phone (which they did not) and answer carefully, they should not be employed if they are not able to speak the native language of the host country, lest it might cause misunderstanding for clients and guests at the embassy, which in my case it did.
At the end I would like to ask the representatives of the Armenian Embassy or the Armenian government to explain the reason for not having trained personnel in Tehran when there are thousands of Iranian citizens working in Armenia and may need assistance.

Days of Validity
Dear Sir/Madam

I am travelling to Armenia this summer in order to apply for a UK VISA, going to the British Embassy there. Besides, I should like to extend my stay there, travelling to different places in Armenia as a tourist and meeting a few friends coming from Europe. I need to ask two questions, if you don't mind:

1. If I arrive at Yerevan airport and apply for the tourist VISA there, what is the upper limit of a in-airport VISA issued? Could that be valid for a month?

2. For how many days, (up to how many days), can I extend my tourist VISA in Yerevan?

Thank you very much indeed
