Buenos dias,

I feel really frustrated as a U.S. Citizen of the United State. The way that this U.S. consulate treat the people in Colombia is totally non-acceptance.
The Consulate do not allow a phone call, you need to send and Email and they claim to answer in 3 days, nothing more apart from the true, they contact you after a week if you are lucky. Second, they do not care about any Urgent Case, they do not have anybody to listen about any special concern.
What a frustation.
In Sept 26 of 2013 and again in Feb 11 my wife was denied a visitors visa to the US. Reason NO INCOME. I am a US citizen retired in Colombia. I like to visit my kids in the US and take my wife along. I don't understand the problem.
The embassy agent wants me to get my wife a RESIDENT visa ????. What can I do ? We do NOT want to move to de US. Just visit. My wife stays home with me and does not work. It is hard to UNDERSTAND.
I am a dual American/Colombian citizen and hold the two passports. My Colombian passport expired last year but I have a family emergency and need to travel to Colombia next Wednesday. Does anyone know if its possible to have it renewed in 1-2 days if I pay an additional fee? I live in NYC and will be going to the Colombian Consulate.
My other option is to arrive to Colombia with American Passport and get it renewed in Bogota during my time there, I hear it is faster.
Any recommendations/feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
