1939 UK Consul in Bergen
Dear Sirs,
I have always wanted to find out what happened to my friend, the son of the British Consul in Bergen in 1939. We were in school together at Nygaard Skole, and we became friends in the fall of 1939. I am afraid his name has long since gone from my memory, but i remember wondering on April 9,1940, what happened tothe family. Canyou help me find out what happened to my friend andhis family? Thank you

British passport renewals from Norway
Many elderly British (women) who want to renew their passports on the net often ask their Norwegian relations to help them. For some reason some of them don't understand the form. Please inform the Consulate in Bergen that any Britain born on, or before 2 Sept.1929 do not have pay for their passport. It is free of charge. BUT they do have to pay for the passport to be delivered to their address in Norway by courier. I have informed the British clubs in Bergen about this. But one woman complained that I have misinformed her. When her son checked with the consulate they were told to pay the full fee, Even though the applicant was born before 2/10/1923.Unfortunately the elderly are still under the impression that the honorary consuls have the same knowledge as the British Embassy.

Telephone number for Consulate given on website.
I am trying to contact the British Consulate's office & when I ring the number given, (004755 367810) a recorded message says 'the number you have rung doesn't exist any longer'!
Has this number been changed? Can anyone help me post a new number for the British Embassy in Bergen please.
Thank you.
