Tusher where u get this good news ? Please know me . It's really 100 % true news that....United Arab Emirate (UAE) on Thursday agreed to consider importing skilled construction workers from Bangladesh. When UAE take again BD people ? It's possible in end of 2016 ? Plz know me Tusher .
United Arab Emirate (UAE) on Thursday agreed to consider importing skilled construction workers from Bangladesh. The oil-rich Gulf country has not been issuing visas for Bangladeshis for the past three years, except to women coming to work in domestic positions.
The UAE, however, opened a visa office in Dhaka in December last year, giving a positive signal of restarting recruitment of Bangladeshi workers in a large-scale.
The decision to resume recruitment of Bangladeshi workers came at a meeting between Bangladesh’s Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSC and Adviser of Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation of the UAE Alex Zammami on August 25 in Colombo, according to a press release.
During the meeting, the Adviser of the Ministry of Human Resources of the UAE and the Bangladesh Overseas Employment Minister discussed elaborately the issues of recruiting workers from Bangladeshi and UAE, and Adviser Alex Zammami arrived at the decision to consider resuming recruitment of Bangladeshi construction workers.
At the bilateral meeting with the UAE high-up, Nurul Islam highlighted the Bangladesh government’s initiatives for skill development of the workers who want to get jobs in overseas market.
At the meeting, they agreed that Bangladesh would provide necessary training to the prospective construction workers before sending them to UAE. They also had discussion on a work plan to this effect.
The meeting was arranged on the sidelines of the 5th ministerial meeting of the Colombo Process, held in the Sri Lankan capital. Islam represented Bangladesh at the meeting, which focused this year on wellbeing of and value addition to the global labour migration, the release added.
On August 10, Saudi Arabia withdrew the ban on the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers. The ban was in force for six years except for the Bangladeshi domestic helps.
Saudi Arabia had taken the decision to consider lifting ban on recruiting Bangladeshi workers during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official visit to the Kingdom in June. -bz
