نظام الحكم الفيدرالي المناسبة لجنوب السودان نسخة التي تأمل في زيادة التفاهم. هناك بالفعل الخوف أعرب لنظام حكم فيدرالي لجنوب السودان وتفتيت جدا. الخوف هو أن جنوب السودان من أن مجزأة إلى الأوطان القبلية مع الزيادة الناتجة في انعدام الأمن. آخر الخوف هو أن التكلفة الاقتصادية للحفاظ على النظام الفيدرالي سوف تكون عالية جدا. ومع ذلك، قد المراقبة الدقيقة لنظام الفيدرالية تبين أن الخوف هو جنون العظمة أو من المحتمل كقناع لجدول أعمال خفي.
