FRUSTRATION
I sincerely do not understand why processing a visa now takes 8 - 10 weeks when it used to take 3-4 working days. Honestly it does not even make any sense. The workers in the South African embassy are also lazy. Like they do not want to do anything. they keep sending people back to get other documents which they never even specified when you had returned from another home sending incident.

Rude Receptionist and inefficient staff

the arrogant attendants
hey i am just writing this to post my dissapoint of South African embassy here in Kenya.in April i applied for a scholarship in South Africa, and my outcome was out in june 20 and my school was to open in 14 July. i immediately availed myself at the embassy to pick forms for my study permit.i noticed that on the forms was a note written that my study visa should be out in 8 wks!
i however requested my school another letter to show that my school was opening early and that it requests the embassy to process it abit sooner.
first upon getting the embassy i gave my application to one lady who scanned them through and before taking she said she needed a ticket(how could i even book a flight yet av not yet gotten my visa),i went back the next day and another lady served me,she took the papers and didnt even asked for the ticket. i asked her if my visa could be processed earlier, bt she was arrogant and said nothing can be done,i tried to ask her to see the letter, bt she utterly shunned me off and invited another white lady to attend to her,who she spoke to in high regard.i just stood there for a moment to look at her and just left.the day of picking was SEPTEMBER.
School is open already and av lost the scholarship already and i just wonder what the study visa will help with after all.
to be frank i think this embassy isnt being considerate, why take someone for a ride and just make people incur losses.if we Kenyans are banned from going, let them just be straight.
this may not help, but i thought twas only me who felt wasted.atleast someone somewhere felt so too

frustrated
if the south African embassy is providing numbers which when called they never pick I don't understand why they make them available to the public.
After calling several times I don't have any clue about the visa I applied which is now 14 days since I applied just to visit for 12 days.
Last year was the same case.....the consular must go.I personally wrote to Madam Maite Nkoane about it but she hasn't replied..it's better they close their offices so that it's clear to Kenyans there is no South African high commission in Kenya

CLERICAL DATE
outsourcing should increase efficiency NOT cause undue stress by getting the date format wrong -writing the date as one would in Kenya and not as is required by South Africa then NOT answering any of the three telephone numbers that work. If numbers are not in use then do not provide them to the public.ANGRY

THIS IS HORRIBLE
I can't imagine this is what happens at the embassy, especially by the people employed and paid to help customers. SHAME ON THEM!
