Yes Anil, I have checked with the consulate, tired to call them several times and if your are lucky enough they will receive your call. They will give you the phone number of VFS, to call them and ask about your visa status.
What about you? when did you apply ?

I have submitted my tourist visa application on 7th April in Banglore. Planned date of travel is 6th May. Is there any chance of getting the visa on time ? The status tells Visa application received in Mumbai
Hi,
I applied for short term tourist visa.
I have missed my flight once already.
Also i have adhered to the procedure of VFS and the consulate,submitted application requesting passport on the 11th of april and on the 18th of april 2017.
I have been just directed in circles frm the VFS to the consulate and the consulate to VFS, without any information, or actual assistance.
I have festival tickets booked which are non-refundable and a complete travel plan which is going down to the drain.
Highly irresponsible and complete neglect for peoples time and hard earned money.
Any realistic help/ advice would be highly appreciated.
