The arrogant guy at the reception
Evrytime I meet people taking about issues at South African embassy in algiers their main problem is the guy at the reception.
I Did meet him too.he is very arrogant,he acres as if he is the one who is in charge...his job is to receive and handle..people r denied visas bcoz of the fake info he gives the consul..and he hides some of documents provided by applicants to show an incomplete file..

Racist
RACIST. Do these people even know what they are doing? ? Serious ego issues. Honest hardworking people denied visa. In my opinion, if you are not black or a criminal don't even try to enter South Africa

South African Embassy in Algeria refused my boyfriend Visa to South africa
My boyfriend applied for a visa to South Africa ,he made the application in November 2016, after I have submitted lots and lots of documents from South Africa, on the 18 January 2017 , he went to the South African embassy, he received a letter stating that his visa application was unsuccessful because he did not meet the requirements, what are these requirements ? I have submitted every documentation required. I am so disappointed by the South african embassy.Every human being deserve to be treated with respect and dignity and be allowed to move freely where ever he / she see fit to relocate or visit. Everyone is equal in the eyes of the law and God.let us be the peacemakers and keepers,One never knows when will you need the assistance of the very same person you treated with disgust and disrespect.

SA embassy making fake problems to refuse visa
Good Morning
It's with anger that I'm writing this feedback about SA embassy. The guy at the reception speaks in a bad way to people and doesn't give any answer when he is being asked. When we call at the embassy's number to have information we are treated like animals and the guy in the phone speaks with arrogance.
In my case, we have a collaboration between my institution and the south african NRF. I already asked 6 times for a visa. Two weeks ago I asked for another one but for a longer stay than usual (4 months). they asked me to bring more documents (certificate of good health and from a phtisiologist in addition to my police record, all of them translated in english). I provided the documents with their official translation which cost me a lot. One week later, when I went to see if there's any news from my application, I found that my application has been rejected because they can't give more that 3 months for visitors except if I'm registered in a south african institution. So they forced me to bring new documents, once done they just throw away my application because of this reason, they could tell me that I can't apply for more than three months in advance.
After that I've been asked to postpone my departure. I did it, I postponed it for the next thursday 19th of May (we are tuesday 17th). I called the embassy this afternoon, the guy who responded (who is actually the same guy who takes the applications) refused to talk to me saying that I have to call in the morning. Each time I call in the morning they say call in the afternoon because we just opened.
I'm a PhD student, I'm working with south african researchers in Cape Town, we have a collaboration with them. But this problem at the South African embassy in algeria is not normal. They are asking me to postpone my trip like if I was free to go any time and don't have anything to do there. My work is being delayed. It's a shame what's happening there

waiting for visa
My boyfriend is Algerian and wants to come to Cape Town. He applied at the SA embassy for a visa and they told him that it should be ready within 10-15 working days which was due 2 weeks ago. He enquired a few day after and they told him to wait for their call. He has returned to the embassy a few times again and still nothing. What is the problem with issuing visas to Algerians? After reading everyonesnstories about obtaining SA visas, im afraid i am losing hope. These are honest people going through the proper channels applying for visas. We have so many refugees and criminals in this country and they are WELCOMED INTO SOUTH AFRICA and we just have to accept it. Its pathetic and almosy xenophobic rejecting Algerians and others into South Africa. Im ashamed to be a South African.
