Dear Sir or Madam.
Thank you for your wonderful group of people known as the Solomon Islands.
I wish to make respectful comment on domestic violence.
The article in the recent AGE publication while respectful and responsible was a shocking account.
I have worked in the development arena for 20+ years and have worked in your country. The incest ,violence, drunkenness and religious ineptitude was embarrassing.
If this is left unchecked and becomes a part of your day to day life it will become acculturated and then it will take another 100 years to get rid of. A case in point is Liberia in West Africa where 85% of women have been raped or sexually abused before the age of 20. This is now accepted and entrenched.
As a Christian organization may I respectfully say that we as Christian are called to be wholly be following even the basic tenants of the teachings of Jesus. When we do or allow things to happen to the …leste of these… then we are not walking in the responsibility we have been given to care for these communities as leaders and INGO’s. and elected Governments.
I realize that the spread of modernity and negative aspects of globalization, tourism, bigger governments are not helpful but I would encourage you to begin to deal with this problem. I would also put forward that many of the so called Christian denominations need to take a very large part of the responsibility for this situation and should be held accountable by their Australian and world peers. I have my opinions but I would like to defer to others within your own culture who are far better placed to expose . Again this is not to incriminate but it is to voice disappointment in a ‘nation’ who I know can do far better that this.
Thank you for allowing World vision to work within the Solomon’s it shows real action, concern and responsibility.
West Papuan people are suffering and dying under Indonesian military oppression. They failed to learn from East Timor and now they continue their rape torture and murder of the West Papuan people. Please support their membership of the MSG so they can have a voice to cry out enough stop the oppression and bring peace to their land
best wishes

Hello,
I'm Russian and needed a visa to Solomon Islands. I've applied for a visa 3 weeks ago. I tried calling numbers listed on the official website but no reply, left a message. Please advise the outcome of my application.
