Comments on this High Commission
I sent an e-mail to the Liverpool embassy after I had tried contacting this office countless times. Once again I find myself waiting and waiting and I am in need of urgent advice with regards to a one way ticket to Samoa.
Born in Samoa, New Zealand citizen however residing in Australia.
Please advise?
Easiest way and cheapest way to bring my husband out??
went to high commission in Canberra. The driver(white guy) to the consulate was only staff member present...he advised me that no one else was there & that they've gone out to lunch(receptionist included). it was 2:30pm and they had left at 12pm.
great to see the samoan way still alive and well in Australia...long lunch breaks and little work done.
IF you are living in NSW, it may be best to contact the consulate in Liverpool at 45 Scott Street Liverpool.
For people wishing to travel to Samoa, you are able to stay in Samoa, for a period of up to 60 days, without requiring a Visa.
Beyond this, you will need to apply for an exemption Visa at the embassy.
If you wish to transfer your Samoan drivers licence, you should go directly to RMS, and they will decided whether you are eligible for an Australian licence. You may be required to complete a probation period before they move you onto Red or Green provisional.
For people wishing to obtain a new Samoan Birth Certificate, you should contact relatives in Samoa to get one for you. They can send it in the mail, and will generally take 1 week to arrive here by airmail.
For people wondering whether they can travel to Samoa on a one way ticket the answer is no, unless you have a Samoan passport.
You may, however, apply to the Samoa Embassy/High Commission in Canberra/Liverpool, and get an exemption Visa, to allow you to stay until the expiry of your passport. iirc the fee is around $50 AUD.
Without this Visa stamp, you will not be allowed to travel on a one way ticket, as they will stop you at the airport.
I was advised by the Australia service office to obtain a letter from the Samoa consulate in Australia in order for the mentioned transfer to be completed. Therefore I am writing to your office if it's possible to provide me with a letter which will help to get my license transferred.
Your help is very much appreciated
Thanks
RE
I lost my driver License during my move to Australia, so I am wanting to know if I can get a copy from your office or will I need to arrange for a copy from Samoa?
Thanks,
To Point Laulua
you have one option is to obtain it from Samoa, perhaps you have relatives back home that can go to birth deaths and marriages to get a new birth cert for you. my husband did that three years ago.
to Moe,
I guess you'll only find out when you book your flight, two years ago I was told holders on Oz passport travelling to Samoa need to purchase return airfares and I think NZ passport holders too.
- July 2013 applied for a renewal of existing birth cert.
- Recieved in December 2013
- my surname was combined with my dads first name. Hmmm & mums first name was incorrect wtf... How do I explain this with the Australian gov.
- booked to go Fiji world mark in 18 jan 14 but now can't go due to this stuff up as passport had expired in sept 2013.....
Not happy jan!!
Trying again so we can travel in April 2014 7 days in Samoa & 7 in Fiji for honey moon... I'm 43 & travel a lot but this has paused & I thank Samoan embassy Liverpool for this.
Eti Stowers has sponsored the Toa Samoan team in 2009 & took the Samoan ambassador/footy officials out for dinner in cairns which can be confirmed by Nigel Vagana my uce....
Now fix this problem so I can travel again!!!!!,,
Your Thoughts,
Eti Stowers
