How can you have a consulate which is supposed to provide a service to the people but never answers their phones nor replies to multiple emails? Can you say unprofessional and a waste of my time? For the past 5 days I have been calling them non-stop at times call after call to simply schedule an appointment to renew my Cartao de Cidadao and no answer and cannot leave a voicemail. I will for sure not be going back to this place ever again or any time soon. I will be sure to handle my business in Portugal.

is this a joke?
I have literally been calling all day 20+ times, with no answer, and it won't even let me leave a voicemail. All I need to do is confirm my appointment in the month of August. I should not have to miss ANY of my work hours if they're on the clock and can't even do THEIR job. Shame on the people working there and whoever manages/owns the office. Disgrace to the Portuguese people.

This is a joke!
Like many before me said, they do not answer the phones so I sent an email asking what documents are needed to renew my passport. I received no response to my email either. After my second email I actually received a response a week later asking for my phone number. This was 2 weeks ago and still did not get a call. This place is supposed to represent my country?? THIS PLACE IS A JOKE AND AN EMBARASSMENT.

Inept and lazy
They are only open from 0900-1300, I will not call it working! They take holidays off for both US and Portugal....what a joke. Don't answer phones and wait lines while there are horrible. Anyplace else they would all be fired. What a shame!

I'm wondering who appointed these people to represent Portugal
I'm going to make short and simple, its our fault for allowing people like this to represent our great Country (Portugal) IT'S A SHAME that no one will step up and clean house!

Worst serrvice of all the poirtuguese consulates
To ask a question I have to travel five(5) hours from the place I live in NY state, for the simple reason that nobody answers the phone.

I have been calling for days, phone rings and rings, no answer and no voice mails. Are we supposed to go into the office to make an appointment? Seriously, why have phones if you don't answer them!

Why publish a phone number if no one answers?
This place is a joke I've been calling and the phone rings and rings for minutes at a time and call drops without given a possibility of leaving message!!!! What is the problem? I see that I'm not the only one sharing this problem.....!!!! One can't see them without an appointment but you can't get an appointment cause they don't answer the phones...! Who's in charge and how do I speak with that person....Apparently they can't handle (or don't know how) their customer service jobs...you need to hire some decent people and you'll see the difference specially in the complaints area
