Dear forum people
Pls be informed that as of first of Novembr the passprt office considers yr portuguese regstration date that is yr assento date as the date of forign citiznship. So anyone who renewed their indian passprt after the assento date..be prepared for revocation...
This is fresh info as of today from passprt office Goa...if yr indian passport expired dont bother to renew..just surrender..they accecpt expired passprts for surrender...

Thank you for the valuable information you have provided. If there is one person here who does nothing but troll others, Believe me there are quite a few who really appreciate the info you have provided.
Ignore the trolls, They are miserable in their lives.
THIS IS MY LAST MESSAGE AND THANKS FOR HUMILIATING ME.
Thanks for the information.
So in short, after we get the surrender certificate, we directly apply for entry X visa at the frro webiste online. And once the Entry X visa is issued to us, we apply for OCI.
Can you tell me what is the total approx expenses for getting the final OCI (entry X visa+OCI charges).
Also What happens if we don't have a ration and voter card? Do we need to give an affidavit?
Any idea how much do agents charge to fill up the form?
Thanks for your help.
But this is the way, I like to explain clearly aa much possible To All.
Two of them were sent back to resubmit the OCI form
A) the day you get your passport, get your below three docs, surrender Indian passport, Ration card name cancellation and Voter Id
B) if it's taking more then a week to get any above certificate, do not wait and apply for XOne visa which is Mandatory and simultaneously you can upload certificates as you get it.
C) apprx a MONTH to get your temporary visa from the day you applied, provided all formalities done, all three surrender certificate , police verification and any additional doc's asked.
D) the day you get your visa ( visa MANDATORY), same or next day apply for OCI.
YOU GET A MAIL CONFIRMING APPOINTMENT DATE, APPROX AFTER FORTY FIVE DAYS.
E) AFTER OCI APPOINTMENT, APPROX FORTY FIVE WORKING DAYS, WHICH MEANS NEARLY TWO MONTHS.( I AM AT THIS STAGE)
ACCORDING TO MY CALCULATION, FOUR AND HALF MONTH'S FROM THE DAY YOU APPLY VISA , TILL YOU GET OCI.
I WILL CONFIRM HERE EXACT DAYS, i had to wait after I get my oci.
