I took my elderly mum and niece from Lagos to Abuja for visa applicationat at the embassy of Portugal. After 5 hours of sitting on the side wall in the hot sun My elderly mum was unconfortable and became sick. I had to beg the security at the hotel opposite the embassy building to let her sit in the security room. After several hours of waiting the embassy clerk told me I could not be attended to because I didnt have an appointment.I bursted into tears. Not because of the visa, but how can a human being be so inhumane and inconsiderate? I asked the clark to plead on my behalf on the groungs that I am a Portuguess resident applying for my ederly mum and we came from Lagos. But the visa officer didnt burge.I had called the embassy a month before for an appointment and was told then that it was unnecesary, that fridays was for fresh applicants.Only to get there and be told appointment pre booking started a week before and only applicants with previouse appointments would be attended to. Thw cost of our flght from Lagos was N195,000. Hotel, feeding and taxi N50,000. And absolutely no interview consideration from an embassy with no other means of comunication aside the wall sign and a phone number that is either permanently engaged or switched off. I have been trying to get through since then and the story has not changed, bussy or switched off. This is realy sad.
Please how do I book appointment with the portuguese embassy
