My son was born in Vietnam last April 2009. I got married with vietnamese guy and my son has a vietnamese passport and nationality. I would like to apply for a dual citizenship of my son since his parents vietnamese and filipina. Could you advise me what should I do in order to apply to become a philippine citizen too aside of being vietnamese.
Thanks a lot and more power!
Guys, With regards to Melinda's post here....Edwin is STILL missing 2 months later and his family is in HCM looking for him....with the true Filipino spirit that is the envy of the world, I will also ask you to do everything you can to help. Just Google the name and you will find the details....Anyone and everyone CAN do something to pass on the information countrywide...and help this family. Don't hesitate, he is our family too...give your time and your contacts to bring him home to Phils...

This is regarding the Vietnam police clearance for my husband.
I did what VN embassy advised me, so my husband in Sydney wrote an authorisation letter for his sister in Hanoi to file for a police clearance in his behalf.
Unfortunately, most police station in Vietnam will not release or give police check for him. Plus the fact that they dont understand english so communication is really a problem. We also ask some Vietnamese friends to help us, but still no police clearance is given.
They said that he should personally apply for it. My point is that we are already here in Sydney, both with Bridging Visa A which means we cant go out of Australia unless there's any other valid circumstances. And the fact that, its so unfair and worthless to spend thousands of fare just to go back on Vietnam again and apply for the police check.
Please do advice me on what to do. Or please can you help me made a letter to the Police in VN to grant our request.
cheers,
Aine
