Comments on this Embassy
I have also receive such message first on facebook from there to email conversation. Now we are moving but money is excluded for now. Should i continue with her or quite?
A girl that claims to be in refugee camp dakar contacted me, asking me to help her claim her late fathers fund in the bank. The way she narrated the story i couldnt found an element of lie in it. She send her details and that of the bank for me to confirm how truth it was. So i forwarded the plan on how i can help her. I sent for the bank and they demanded a power of attorney and affidavits. I told the girl and she send me a lawyer contact for me to contact the lawyer to help and provide the documents. I discussed with the lawyer and he demanded some money for the documents in which i send for him sensing no danger. The lawyer prepared some document and sent for me, he told me to send him some money again for him to help me and post it to the bank, he called it postage fee. Here, i began to realize some certain things. Can't i send a document myself to the bank? The girl is still encouraging me to do whatever i can provided we secure the money that we are almost there. This is my first time of experiencing something in this nature. So, i would need an advice from experienced people. Should this be lesson or a blessing? Should i quict or continue? A girl named Cindy Sayid is saying the same story. First she contacts through Facebook then through e-mail once you provide her with your e-mail. Well fortunately, this sounded to me to good to be true. So I automatically researched her name and place where she says she is online. The internet is full of warnings. One of her facebook accounts is this link

i got a mail from one "miss favour mabou in this refugee camp in Dakar, Senegal. she said she's from cote d'voire. she also said her late father kept some money for her in STANDARD CHARTERED BANK. She sent me all the bank documents and said i should transfer the money from her father's account to mine cos she can't do that due to being a refugee. later on, she told me to contact a lawyer who would set up a power of attorney and affidavit for me to be able to transfer the money. then, the lawyer said he would need 580 dollars (N50,000) for all the setup. i don't have that money, that was why i contacted favour again. but i never got any reply. that was when i knew it was a scam. i almost fell for this scam.
