Locating birth records of a family member
Dear Sir, I would like to understand whether there may be any services offered by the consulate in obtaining birth records of a family member. This family member is my maternal grandmother, whose parents are from the Netherlands. I do possess the marriage certificate of this grand mother’s parents and the birth record of my great grandmother. The documents are also in Dutch, which require translation to English. Could you please help me to find more information about my grand mother, in the hope that our families may be reunited? Look forward to your reply.

Checklist Schengen visa / purpose of stay: visit family/ friend(s)




• Visa application form (completely filled out and signed on both pages)

• Photographs: two recent colour passport photographs, not older than 6 months, bearing a true likeness to the applicant (3,5 by 4,5 cm). We do not accept photo shopped or 'with touching' pictures

• Your travel document valid for a minimum of 3 months after scheduled return with at least 2 blank pages and photocopy of this passport

• Invitation/guarantee obtained at the municipality in the hometown of the host

• Copy of Netherlands ID (holders page Netherlands passport or residence permit) of the host

• Valid travel-medical-insurance policy, either individual or group, with a minimum cover of 30,000 euro and valid for all Schengen countries

• Flight reservation

If the host is paying for all your expenses
• he/she needs to show proof of financial means (3 recent salary statements or a recent proof of payment income tax or pension statement etc.).

If you pay all costs yourself
• proof that you have at least Euro 34 per day to cover the costs throughout your stay in the Netherlands (e.g. original bank book, employment letter, traveller's cheques or similar documents).

• Confirmation from booked accommodation for the whole travel period, including all other countries during this trip.
• Flight reservation
• Valid travel-medical-insurance policy, either individual or group, with a minimum cover of 30,000 euro and valid for all Schengen countries
• Proof of financial means: statements of bank account, bank confirmation of currency exchange (34 euro per day for a person plus costs for accommodation) not older than 3 months.
• Proof of employment:
o For employees: an original recent employers’ statement that should mention salary, since when employed and the duration of holidays
o For private businessmen: a photocopy of the registration of your company at the (regional) authorities and Pakistani Chamber of Commerce + tax paying certificate
o For students: registration form a school or university, and if travelling during the study period, certificate from school or university with permission of absence.
