Comments on this Consulate-General
I visited the consulate today and they sent me home because i need to make an appointment. It seems they never answer the telephone, but the guy there was helpful and provided the website for appointments. Here is link:
http://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/losangeles/ Make sure you scroll down and the icon is on the right hand side. It is easy to miss, it says "Para Programar una cita en su cosulado aga CLIC AQUI". Next day appointments are available. There is no parking, $15.00 across the street, so if you want to secure street parking, go early. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
I am an American citizen and both of my parents have dual citizenship. I'm trying to make an appointment through Mexitel to become a Mexican citizen. However, the phone line is always busy. I am making it online for LA county, but there is no drop down menu option for this type of request. Do I choose "passport?" I don't want to go to the appointment and be sent home.

To whom it may concern,
I wanted to drop you a note and update the Consulate-General of Mexico regarding a yearly trip that I am in-charge of putting together to Baja California. Typically we arrange a group of individuals from the Claremont College Consortium here in Southern California, of something around 30 individuals along with their families.
Please be advised that I have canceled this year’s trip and it will remain canceled indefinitely until you release imprisoned Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi. I will be actively campaigning for as many other individuals and families to do the same until his release.
Sincerely,
John Felts
