How is the life of an outsider in Malta?, as I wish to consider settling in Malta.
My email Id: acfernandes12@gmail.com
I spend some months in Malta each year as I take long brisk walk by the sea in that country. Malta is not a rich country like UK/USA and salaries are fairly low. I was paid Euro 20 per hour as a Specialist doctor. Also having worked there for a few week I noted there are no references asked or a job description provided. Pensions are poor and many of my doctor colleagues in Malta tell me they cannot retire although near 80 years of age because of poor pensions. Malta wants Indian students for Indian money but in my opinion it is no place Indians for the following reason: Maltese are not well read people and majority do not know what is going on in this world. There is no specialty one cannot find in India which is available in Malta. Maltese look down on Indians for reason not known to me. Indians do not need that at all as a booming economic power. India can do without Malta but not the other way round. I see nothing great in Malta. I am aware of the business Maltese were doing in Soho, London. More Maltese live out of Malta than in Malta itself including many in most countries in Arab North Africa where they fit in well because of common language and Phoenician racial connections. A Indian student coming to UK/USA will get a 'A' class globally recognised degree and apart from the degree will refine his knowedge and social skills a thing not possible in Malta. Also Indian students do not get a job after studies in Malta which was told to Indian students coming to Malta in the past. All this interest of Malta in India is because of the economic rise of India and the oppurtunity of making Indian money. Malta with four Consulates in India should look into the issues raised by me before asking Indians to come to Malta.
