Regarding your mail for issuance of Employment Registration Certificate and Registration Card, the following are the procedure for issuance of the certificate to enable you work here in Malaysia.
FOR THE ISSUANCE OF EMPLOYMENT REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE AND REGISTRATION CARD for Working in MALAYSIA.
The Asylum and Immigration Act 1998 requires us to ensure that all employees (Non Malaysian Residence)hold valid documents supporting their identity and their entitlement to work in Malaysia.
By making these checks, we can be sure that we are not breaking the law by employing illegal workers and only employ people who are legally permitted to work in Malaysia.
Expatriates/Employee will need to register under this scheme within (14 days) of receiving Offer Letter from employer for starting a new job. Should an employee fail to do so, then they are in breach of the immigration rules. Additionally, employers who hire non-registered workers are breaking the law and committing a criminal offense, and face a fine of $10,000 .
The following lists of documents have been specified by the Home Office as those which should be provided by potential employees as proof of their eligibility to work in Malaysia.
The ERC/RC Application Form should be completed and sent along with:
1) A copy of Offer Letter
2) Two passport photographs
3) International passport or National ID Card
4) Processing Fee of: 1,420 USD. (One thousand four hundred & twenty Dollas)
Applications will be processed within 48 hours of payment being received along side with above listed documents.
Applicants will receive by post a registration card and registration certificate (a copy of which will also be sent to the employer). If applicants stop working for the employer, the registration card and certificate will become invalid. If a new position is taken up, then a new registration certificate should be applied for.
You are required to scan and forward the documents to us as attachment to Email: foreignaffairs.malaysia@asia.com
