Please stop the slaughter of dolphins and whales
Please STOP your slaughter of dolphins and whales. Your whale killing defies the international ban on whale hunting for all except a few indigenous peoples for whom whales are a significant basis of their subsistence. This is not the case for Japan, and no one buys the argument that you slaughter these magnificent animals for "scientific purposes." Please join the rest of the international community and STOP this shameful practice.

Horrible and inhumane slaughter of innocent living beings, Taiji, Japan.
Here is the letter, sent to the Japanese government, which I fully support. Please read: Dear Governing Body of Japan,
At a time when all eyes of the world are on you, and the sustainability and humaneness of the dolphin hunt are being exposed, it’s crucial that you use your power to stop the cruel and unpopular slaughter of entire dolphin families.
The barbaric and tortuous treatment of intelligent animals is viewed by most as a sin against the natural world. While other counties have laws against the inhumane slaughter of fellow creatures of this Earth, Japan is eliminating entire pods of dolphins at an exponential rate. The result – the rest of the world is looking at Japan with great disgust.
As resistance to the world’s request to end dolphin slaughter continues, efforts are being made to prevent your country from hosting the 2020 Olympics.
Additionally, you are poisoning your own people. It’s a known fact that dolphin meat is high in mercury and is poisonous for human consumption! Do you want to be responsible for home-grown illness and potentially death among your citizens?
Please be reminded the world is watching you 24/7. Thanks to live recordings streamed by the Sea Shepherd Cove Guardians, the cruel and painfully slow Japanese dolphin slaughter is being viewed in households everywhere.
I hope you will consider the requests and expressions of concern, and do the right thing for your people and the world. Please end the slaughter of dolphins starting now!

Earthquake 12-06-2014
JAPAN EARTHQUAKE [12TH JULY, 2014].

I was sorry to read the news on new earthquake activities recorded in Japan on Saturday 12th July, 2014. Although, there was a warning given on Tsunami, but luckily there was no Tsunami at the time.

Earthquake in March, 2011 had created devastating effect on Japan. It was the largest one Japan had with a 9.0 magnitude. The recent one on Saturday was recorded by JMA to be 6.8 magnitude, but the US Geological Survey calculated it to be of 6.5 magnitude.

The pictured published had showed some destruction in Japan, but the media covered no real calamities.

The nuclear plants in Japan had been put offline for some years since 2011 earthquake and tsunami. However, recently the Watchdogs monitoring feel satisfied about opening two nuclear reactors. Some good news for Japan.

I hope that progress and safety installation will continue to protect industries in Japan and rest of the world with these natural disasters which are common today.

Thank you.

Japanese bear parks
Dear Excellency

I am writing to express my concern with regards the welfare of bears in Japanese bear parks.

I urge the Japanese authorities to carry out the following actions:

Provide support to the bear parks to develop naturalistic enclosures which allow the bears to express natural behaviours and contain sufficient space and material to allow behavioural enrichment. Enclosures should be built following the standards developed at sanctuaries for brown bears and Asiatic black bears globally.
Develop protocols under the supervision of a veterinary surgeon that is familiar with current practice in the care of captive bears, to ensure the condition, health and behaviour of all animals is assessed regularly, and a record indicating changes to the prescribed diet, health checks carried out, any unusual behaviour or activity or other problems, and remedial actions taken.
Develop initiatives to provide capacity building training for members of staff to recognise abnormal behaviour and clinical symptoms of illness and develop the knowledge of the diets, husbandry, and enrichment procedures required for the bears in their care.

If these conditions cannot be met I urge you to close the bear parks and support the humane euthanasia of these bears.

Yours sincerely
