I phoned the consulate in Manchester to see how I go about my husband's pension. I was given 2 telephone numbers to ring, neither were successful. any ideas????
I have been a resident in the uk for 47 years. Originally from Avellino Italy. I am absolutely fed up of certain Italian individuals complaints about the poor service they receive from the consulate officials. I have been calling in person at the Manchester office for various advice, and renewing my passport several times. I always found the officials very polite and helpful. My and my son's Italian passports have always been renewed quickly and efficiently. and are much cheaper than the English ones. I know this is so; as my wife is English, and usually it costs her about twice as much.
I am an italian citizen living here in the uk for over 30years. I have always been proud to be italian but for my sadness I have had enough of the rude and patronising italian consulate staff - they do not have an ounce of good customer relations. They are supposed to be there to help us italians but in my experience it is the last place where I feel you could get help. They forget that they have a job because of us italians in Uk, they think they are better than all of us but on reality they are worse, nothing to be proud of. diSo sad but that's how it is. Everytime I come away I am more confused than when I went in! Don't expect to get any help there I am ashamed to call myself italian!
